With tens of millions of new smartphone subscribers every month, the need for operators to provide efficient, dependable and high-quality mobile-broadband networks to handle data demand is greater than ever. Ericsson has packaged a series of recent smartphone-related articles in a handy brochure called: "Why smartphones need smart networks."

The eight-page PDF document refers to report from market research company IDC (International Data Corporation) on the dramatic increase in smartphone sales and the role played by the Android mobile operating system in that increase.

It contains four Ericsson-produced articles.
