At the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2011 on October 11 to 13 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Ericsson will showcase its IP and Broadband offering, including results from newly conducted interoperability tests.
Ericsson's IP and Broadband products were involved in the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) interoperability tests in September in Berlin, Germany. End-to-end mobile backhaul capabilities in microwave and fiber were demonstrated, with both new and existing product families taking part. The results of these tests will be showcased in the EANTC showcase at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2011.
Ericsson will participate in the event – which is open to the public – by showcasing both new and existing products. Highlights include the latest advanced packet-based solutions for network operators, the complete MINI-LINK product range as well as the Smart Packet Optical (SPO) 1400. All of these products will “run live” in Amsterdam, demonstrating their capabilities to support the network transformation towards an all-packet future.
Mobile backhaul networks today are in a state of evolution; the support for features such as the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) transport profile and the profile for frequency synchronization based on IEEE 1588v2 are becoming ever more important. At the event, operators can see for themselves that Ericsson’s 4G IP product families support these to the internationally agreed standards, as demonstrated by their interoperability with other participating vendors.
Ericsson's successful participation in the EANTC tests further demonstrates the company's support of the latest Carrier Ethernet standards and technologies. Support of these standards and technologies is increasingly important to ensure a smooth network migration from TDM to packet.
The European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) offers vendor-neutral consultancy and test facilities for network equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprise customers.
