We’ve already seen what Rogers and RIM has lined up for us in 2009 so now let’s turn our attention to what Sony Ericsson has in store for us next year. We’ve heard about the Rika/W705 and Kate before, but it seems that there are more Cybershot phones hidden in the Sony Ericsson vault.
The Sony Ericsson Yue is a supposed follow up to the K550 features a 3.2-megapixel camera, and is expected to be released during the 1s quarter of 2009. Below is an image side-by-side with the K550 giving us a glimpse of what it could look like (read: unofficial).
There’s also the Filippa which could come with HSUPA connectivity as well as 140MB internal memory, SnapFish, PhotoFix, Face and Smile Detection to name a few of its imaging features. No tentative release date, but it could become available in three colored variants: Noble Black, Sincere Silver and Precious Peach.
The Sony Ericsson Frances, meanwhile, is a Cybershot slider which features GPS, an active lens cover and some of the imaging features we mentioned present in the Filippa. No information was given as to its megapixels and release date.
Last, but not the least, the Sony Ericsson Athena is also expected to come out in the 1st quarter of 2009, but belongs to the Snapshot series. It’s the successor of the S302 and is a mid-end candybar for the average user.
This list is not official and by no means is limited to what has already been mentioned. Personally, I wish more were included, but based on what we can see so far, it looks like a pretty decent line-up. I just wish more details were as to their specifications and some hi-resolution images wouldn’t have been bad either. Anyway, I guess waiting is all part of the game and makes it that more exciting once they’re finally unveiled.
