Operator MTS and the Government of the Kaluga region announce strategic partnership in the implementation of programs aimed at the socio-economic development. Until 2014, MTS plans to invest in infrastructure of nearly 500 million rubles. Deputy Governor of the Kaluga region Maxim Shereykin and branch manager of MTS in the Kaluga region Chebanov Alexander signed an agreement on social and economic cooperation. Under the agreement, MTS is planning an active development of cellular networks, including "third generation" in the Kaluga region, as well as the expansion of network coverage due highways of federal and regional significance. MTS Agreement and the Government of the Kaluga region also includes projects in the social sphere. MTS is a strategic partner of the Center serves youth innovation in the city of Obninsk. The Center plans to implement innovative projects in telecommunications, with the participation of students and young professionals and conducting research and development activities.   Currently the MTS bond provided all the cities and district centers of the region, as well as all federal highways. The pace of building a network in 2011 to three times increased compared to 2010. MTS also conducted extensive work on the construction of fixed network technology FTTB (Fiber-to-the-Building - «Fiber to the home") in Kaluga. In particular, MTS provided a modern network of over 120 000 households. Also on the 2012 television digitalization MTS planned technology DVB-C and as a consequence, increase the number of broadcast channels and the development of new interactive services.
