The Motorola-Ferrari partnership wasn't at all what I expected especially when such a well known Italian brand was used to name a very lack luster and unimpressive phone. However, put the Vertu name in place of Motorola and you know you'll be getting one luxurious phone that's definitely worthy of the Ferrari name.
The new Ascent Ti collection will be lovechild of this new tandem and will feature one limited edition phone, the Nero, and two special edition models, the Rosso and Giallo. The Nero will be made of titanium, crystal sapphire pillows and coated with scratch-proof PVD. The two special edition phones will slightly be less extravagant with just the keyboard and battery cover being PVD-coated, and featuring ceramic pillows instead of crystal sapphire.
Specs of this new line are, as expected, not that impressive. Quad-band GSM/EDGE, WCDMA 2100MHz, Bluetooth, 3-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 4GB internal memory and Ferrari-inspired themes and ringtones are standard across the board. No Wi-Fi or 3G, but hey, it does the most basic functions of a phone and looks quite good while doing it so that should be reason enough for you not to complain that much.
No word though on when and how much this new phones will retail for, but as Vertu phones go, expect it to cost an arm and a leg. Only 2,009 limited-edition Neros will be produced so if you've got the dough to buy one, it doesn't get anymore exclusive than this.
