In an effort to diversify their dual-SIM portfolio, Samsung is coming out with the S9402 DuoS. It’s another active dual-SIM capable phone, but this time around, adds a little more high-end and expensive material to make it more appealing for the wealthier segment of the market.

It comes with a hardened scratch resistant glass and metal frame covered with rhodium, a chemical and mechanical damage resistant platinum group metal. It may not be as glamorous and excessively luxurious as the Vertu, but its use of premium materials will nevertheless entice those who put a premium on quality workmanship.

As for its phone features, it’ll come with a 2-inch QVGA AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection and LED flash, triband GSM for the first SIM, dual band GSM for the second SIM, GPRS/EDGE, 1GB built-in memory, Bluetooth, and microSDHC card support up to 8GB. No 3G and WiFi on this baby, but that’ll mean it won’t be excessively expensive either. No word yet on when and where it will be released so it’s best to keep your eyes peeled for this one if you’re aching to get yourself a decent-looking dual-SIM phone.

Other Samsung S9402 specs include:

* Triband GSM (900/1800/1900 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 1st SIM card
* Dual band (900/1800 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 2nd SIM card
* 2″ 262K color QVGA AMOLED display
* 5 mpx camera with autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection, WDR and LED flash
* FM Radio with RDS
* 1 GB of built-in memory
* microSDHC memory card slot (up to 8 GB)
* Bluetooth 2.0 and USB
* 960 mAh battery
* Dimensions: 115 x 48 x 16 mm
* Weight: 140 g

Apart from the lack of 3G, the specs and features of Samsung S9402 look pretty impressive for a luxury phone. And you can expect a pretty impressive price tag for Samsung S940 DuoS too, when a handset is launched officially.
