Now Samsung has announced the phone in Russia, the first European country where it will be on sale.
With a design obviously borrowed from the one of Samsung F480, the D980 definitely looks good, although my first impression upon seeing it was that its display should have been a bit larger.
Users can put two SIM cards into the D980, but these will work only on the 900 / 1800 / 1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE bands, as the phone doesn't have 3G connectivity.
The rest of D980's specs include:
- 2.6 inch touchscreen with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels
- TouchWiz UI
- 5 MP camera with autofocus, flash and video
- Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR
Music & video player - FM radio
- Document reader
- microSD card support, up to 2 GB
- 117 grams, 97.5 x 55 x 16 mm
The South Korean manufacturer hasn't announced the price of Samsung D980 yet. But the dual SIM feature and the 5 MP cam are almost guaranteeing that the phone won't be too affordable.
