This is typically a good indicator that the holiday sales season is now upon us. Quickly following up on the release of the Moto V9x, AT&T has now shipped the Pantech Matrix and Sony Ericsson W760a to stores and should now be available to purchase.

The Matrix could be considered a sequel to the Pantech Duo, a clever WinMo dual-slider phone. However the Matrix differentiates itself from its predecessor by ditching Windows and opting for a simple Pantech UI instead. This will probably appeal more to the SMS-savvy demographic now that it has become more text-friendly. The Matrix sliding mechanisms also feel a little more solid than the Duo.

Red, Blue and Black will be the available colors. The Matrix will offer bluetooth, 1.3 MP camera, and 3G/HSDPA support.

We also got wind of the Sony W760a slider. We aren't sure if this will be the direct replacement to the W580, but this one certainly packs some upgrades, ie. 3.2 MP camera (best for AT&T thus far) and aGPS for AT&T Navigation.

Quite frankly, any new Sony slider would be an upgrade to the W580i's cracking keyboard, but the added features are definitely welcome and encouraged. Expect to see quite a few new phones showing up on AT&T's lineup in the next couple weeks.
