Samsung’s Rugby A837 is a new rugged, military-grade handset. The Rugby is available on AT&T network and will be the first rugged handset to feature AT&T’s Video Share calling and has Push to Talk.

Specs include dual-band 3G connectivity and quad-band GSM technology, the phone also has A-GPS- the military must be taking this thing seriously. Just in case, you wondered – the phone is certified to military standard to withstand dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and temperature extremes. The phone also comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot.

The casing is of course rubber and metal, and with a name like Rugby- naturally we would assume that you could kick it around without too much consequence.

AT&T is lowering its monthly cost for Push to Talk to $5 per month for users. The Samsung Rugby will be available for $129.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. For a limited time, AT&T is offering small business customers the opportunity to activate five lines or more at a price of $79.99 on each device.
