Motorola W388 and Motorola W231 are the newest music phones that the big M has released in Brazil, the largest mobile market in Latin America.

These W-series handsets should really rock Brazilian consumers, as Motorola is including, in their selling prices, a 1GB microSD card pre-loaded with exclusive music from NXZero, a rock band that has a huge success in Brazil.

Both of the new Motorola handsets are candybars and unfortunately neither of them has too many advanced capabilities. Anyway, they are targeted towards budget users, so it’s natural that we won’t find high-end stuff packed into them.

The features of Motorola W388 and Motorola W231 include:

* MP3 player with music dedicated keys

* FM radio with RDS

* Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology

* Expandable memory up to 2GB

* VGA photo camera (only on W388)

Motorola W388 and Motorola W231 can be bought by Brazilian mobile users for R$ 249,00 and R$ 199,00 respectively (that’s $139 and $112 if we talk in US dollars).

By the end of September, Motorola will launch yet another two new phones in Brazil, but there are no details yet about their names and specifications. Also, there is no info regarding the availability of Moto’s W388 and W231 in other countries.
